Qualifications

Requires Washington Accord recognised degree in Electrical Engineering.
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or working towards (RPEQ/board membership) is preferred.
10+ years of experience in electrical engineering with strong risk management mindset.

Responsibilities

Provide technical guidance and drive timely resolution of queries and issues.
Design, develop, and implement engineering solutions with a focus on accuracy and quality.
Identify learning and development needs and mentor less experienced team members.
Support EDL Operations with safe and timely issue resolution.
Implement electrical engineering standards and maintain technical documentation.
Certify schemes as a registered professional engineer as required.

Job description

Provide technical guidance and innovation for timely resolution of queries and issues
Design, develop, and implement engineering solutions while ensuring technical accuracy and quality
Identify learning and development needs and mentor less experienced team members
Support EDL Operations with the safe and timely resolution of issues
Implement Electrical engineering standards and technical documentation
Certify schemes as a registered professional engineer as required
Collaborate with team members to achieve team objectives
Enhance EDL’s Electrical capability by improving existing processes and staying updated with industry trends
Ensure personal and others’ health and safety through workplace health and safety obligations
Support and comply with Company policies and procedures

Requirements

Washington Accord recognised degree in Electrical Engineering
Chartered Member of Engineers Australia (CPEng)
Member of the Board Professional Engineers Queensland (RPEQ) or working towards this
10 years’ experience in the Electrical Engineering field
Understanding of safety principles in design with a core emphasis on effective risk management
Experience with heavy industry (e.g., mining, power generation, oil & gas) would be an advantage
Experience facilitating design and project reviews, including HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA and safety reviews desirable
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Innovative mindset
Interest in and ability to continue personal leadership growth
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deliver consistent results under time pressure
