Job summary

BEC Engineering is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer with 10+ years of experience to join our Perth-based team. You will lead detailed engineering design, supervise engineers and designers, and drive project delivery in mining or minerals processing environments.

You will engage with clients, identify opportunities, and oversee procurement, CAD modeling, and technical documentation. A consulting background and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering Degree, recognised by Engineers Australia.
• Project design experience ideally in mining or minerals processing.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to formulate, manage and meet project targets and budgets.
• Experience in a consulting capacity.
• Willingness to perform some site work and commissioning.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills.

Responsibilities

Lead Electrical Engineer

With a strong pipeline of work, we are looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer with 10+ years experience to join our team.

About The Role

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, this role forms part of the core professional consulting group and will contribute strongly to the overall design capability of the team.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Lead the detailed engineering design of projects including the supervision and direction of engineering staff and designers.
• Client-focused with the ability to identify opportunities, propose and win project work, and oversee the execution and delivery of these project works.
• Oversee and review design deliverables including cable schedules, equipment lists, instrument lists, single lines, schematics, termination diagrams, 3D model designs etc.
• Equipment specification, selection and procurement.
• Scoping electrical manufacturer and installation works and providing support and direction to contractors.

Key Requirements

• Electrical Engineering Degree, recognised by Engineers Australia.
• Project design experience ideally in mining or minerals processing applications.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to formulate, manage and meet project targets and budgets.
• Communicate effectively with the electrical engineering team and project stakeholders, including the customers.
• Strong background in the design of Motor Control Centres, Instrumentation specification and selection.
• Ability to instruct and manage designers/drafts people.
• Experience in a consulting capacity.
• A willingness to perform some site work and commissioning.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills.
