Job summary

The Department of Education Victoria is seeking an experienced Manager to lead major education infrastructure projects and coordinate a diverse team of consultants, contractors and partners. The role focuses on delivering lifecycle projects, managing procurement, budgets and stakeholder engagement from feasibility to handover.

The appointee will oversee a capital works program through the Major Projects Branch, partner with school and community stakeholders, and report to senior executives.

Qualifications

• Experience across the full development project lifecycle from feasibility to delivery.
• Coordination and direction of consultants, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Specialist procurement expertise for infrastructure capital works.
• Ability to lead and develop a high performing team and manage diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of project execution across feasibility, tendering and delivery to meet milestones and targets.
• Prepare project feasibility information, including budgets and business cases.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams on planning, design, legal and communications.
• Establish and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders to manage risks and resolve issues.
• Provide clear reports on planning, delivery status, benefits and outcomes for Ministers and senior staff.
• Translate insights from analysis into strategies, investment advice and prioritisation.
• Lead and develop staff to ensure credible, well-evidenced project delivery.
