Job summary

Arup Australia is seeking a senior ecology leader to provide technical leadership to the Queensland ecology team, guiding high-quality ecological outcomes across transport, water, waste and renewable energy projects.

You will collaborate with national leaders to strengthen capability, lead complex studies and influence approvals strategies, while mentoring ecologists and contributing to multi-disciplinary proposals and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Recognised tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Botany, Zoology, Marine/aquatic sciences, Environmental Science or related discipline.
• 12–15+ years of relevant experience with leadership on complex ecology projects in transport, infrastructure and/or renewables.
• SQP status for protected plants surveys in Queensland seen favourably but not mandatory.
• Experience leading field work in terrestrial or marine/aquatic ecology and regulator-facing deliverables.
• Strong knowledge of Queensland and Commonwealth environmental legislation, policy and approvals processes.
• Ability to communicate clear, defensible technical advice and mentor ecologists.
