Job summary

Arc Infrastructure is seeking an Ecology Specialist to lead flora and fauna assessments, deliver high-quality ecological reports, and provide expert guidance across maintenance and capital works for our WA infrastructure programs.

Reporting to the Environment and Heritage Programs Lead, you will coordinate approvals, manage environmental risk, engage regulators, and help strengthen environmental systems across the organisation while mentoring others.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Ecology, Botany or Zoology.
  • 7–10+ years' experience in terrestrial ecology with infrastructure or linear assets.
  • Strong experience delivering flora and fauna surveys and ecological assessments.
  • Experience preparing technical reports for environmental approvals.
  • Solid knowledge of EPBC Act and WA Clearing Regulations.
  • Experience managing environmental approvals and permits.
  • Proficiency in GIS and ecological data management.
  • Strong analytical, communication and leadership skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver flora and fauna assessments in line with relevant technical guidance.
  • Prepare and review high-quality ecological reports to support approvals and project outcomes.
  • Provide specialist advice to internal stakeholders across maintenance and capital works.
  • Manage ecological inputs to permitting processes and coordinate environmental approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with Commonwealth and State environmental legislation and approval conditions.
  • Maintain ecological datasets, including GIS-based information on species, communities and offsets.
  • Undertake field assurance activities and support environmental incident investigations.
  • Build strong relationships with regulators and coordinate submissions, reporting and engagement.
  • Provide training and guidance to improve ecological awareness and capability across the business.
