Job summary

MinRes is seeking a Senior IT Support professional in Western Australia to act as a primary escalation point for Level 1 and Level 2 incidents, ensuring a stable and continuously improving IT environment. You will provide hands-on support, coordinate service desk activities, and mentor junior staff.

Travel to remote sites is expected, with on-call rosters as required. A tertiary IT qualification and ITIL certification are highly regarded, along with experience across desktops, software and AV

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on Level 1 & Level 2 IT support across hardware, software, applications, and user environments.
• Log, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents in line with SLAs; escalate high-impact issues.
• Support desktops, laptops, printers, phones, AV equipment, and meeting room technologies.
• Build, deploy, maintain, and repair corporate IT equipment; ensure licensing compliance.
• Manage user account provisioning, access control, and onboarding/offboarding processes.
• Participate in hardware/software lifecycle management and technology recommendations.
• Provide specialist escalation for complex issues and coordinate with DTS Support Officers.
• Identify, implement, and automate service improvement opportunities within IT support.
• Contribute to IT standards, processes and help desk procedures.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Superintendent - DTS Support, this role acts as a senior escalation point for Level 1 and Level 2 incidents, contributing to the stability, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our IT environment. You will provide hands‑on technical support to users, coordinate service desk activities, manage lifecycle processes, and mentor junior support staff, ensuring service delivery is professional, responsive, and aligned with agreed SLAs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service while delivering hands‑on Level 1 & Level 2 IT support across hardware, software, applications, and user environments
• Log, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents in line with SLAs; escalated high‑impact issues to relevant teams or vendors
• Support desktops, laptops, printers, phones, AV equipment, meeting room technologies, and other peripheral devices
• Build, deploy, maintain, and repair corporate IT equipment, ensuring compliance with standards and licensing
• Manage user account provisioning, access control, and onboarding/offboarding processes
• Participate in hardware/software lifecycle management, including recommendations for new technologies
• Provide specialist escalation for complex issues and coordinate technical work with DTS Support Officers
• Identify, implement, and automate service improvement opportunities within the IT support function
• Contribute to IT standards, processes, and help desk resources; develop and optimise Service Desk operating procedures
• Assist with rostering, customer satisfaction monitoring, and targeted actions to improve service quality
• Travel to remote or operational sites and participate in on‑call rosters as required
• Mentor and guide junior IT support staff to enhance capability and consistency

What is Required

• Tertiary qualification in IT or related field highly regarded
• ITIL certification highly regarded
• Established experience in Service Desk, Desktop Support or IT Support roles
• Proven experience resolving Level 1 & Level 2 technical issues across corporate IT environments
• Understanding of service delivery, SLA adherence, and multi‑site user support
• Background in supporting hardware, software, systems, and user environments across desktops, mobility, printing, and AV technologies
• Strong customer focus with the ability to lead, drive outcomes, and promote positive change
• Excellent communication skills, team orientation, and ability to mentor others
• Self‑motivated, receptive to ideas, and able to work effectively in dynamic environments
