Job summary

Ozland Mining Services seeks an experienced Senior Drill & Blast Engineer to lead design and optimization of blast plans in Western Australia. You will coordinate with mine planning, analyze performance, and drive safety and efficiency across operations.

The role emphasizes technical excellence, leadership, and ongoing improvements to fragmentation, productivity and costs while complying with safety standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in drill and blast engineering within an open-pit mining environment.
• Bachelor of Engineering in Mining, Civil or a relevant discipline.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience in blast design, performance analysis and reconciliation, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, review and optimisation of drill and blast plans.
• Coordinate blasting activities with mine planning and production schedules.
• Analyse blast performance and reconcile results against design objectives.
• Optimise fragmentation, productivity and drilling and blasting costs.
• Prepare and review blast designs, technical reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with Operations and Mine Planning teams.
• Ensure compliance with site safety standards and blasting regulations.
• Identify improvement opportunities and provide technical guidance to the team.
