Job summary

Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) in South Brisbane is seeking motivated individuals to join the Venue Services team in casual roles. You will support day-to-day operations, including deliveries, stock control, inventory maintenance, and setup for events, meetings and venues.

This hands-on position requires safety focus, strong organisation, and the ability to work independently or with others in a busy environment. A current forklift license and WHS awareness are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities, maintenance, logistics, warehousing or venue operations.
• Strong communication and customer service skills with diverse stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to identifying issues and practical solutions.
• The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and take ownership of tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate records/stock control.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital systems to manage operations.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety and safe work practices.
• Practical maintenance or handyperson skills with hand/power tools.
• The ability to perform manual and physical work in a busy environment.
• Flexible, reliable, team-oriented approach to supporting a broad range of activities.

Responsibilities

• Receive, check, record, store and distribute deliveries across QPAC.
• Maintain inventory and stock records using QPAC systems.
• Conduct stocktakes and replenish supplies in dressing rooms, kitchens and storage areas.
• Operate forklifts and equipment safely per site requirements.
• Undertake building, furniture, fixture and equipment inspections and raise maintenance requests.
• Set up and remove furniture for events, meetings and operational needs.
• Carry out minor maintenance and handyperson tasks across the Centre.
• Respond to enquiries from internal stakeholders, contractors and hirers.
• Support food and beverage inventory management and scheduled stocktakes.
• Maintain a clean, safe and secure environment across loading dock, stores and venue areas.
• Undertake cleaning duties including waste removal and maintaining back-of-house areas.
• Contribute to a strong WHS culture and ensure work aligns with WHS requirements.
