Job summary

Programmed Skilled Workforce is seeking a Venue Services Coordinator for a recreation precinct in Townsville. You will coordinate day-to-day venue services, supervise staff and contractors, and ensure high-quality service for customers and stakeholders.

Key duties include leading the customer service team, onboarding and rostering staff, coordinating events and receptions, and implementing safe work practices in line with WHS and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service, venue operations, recreation, hospitality, events or similar environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience supervising, coordinating or supporting staff and/or contractors.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the customer service team to deliver high-quality services to customers and stakeholders.
  • Supervise staff and agency contractors, including onboarding, rostering, training and ongoing support.
  • Coordinate venue functions and events, including inductions, equipment setup and pack down, reception services and client relationship management.
  • Support development and implementation of SOPs and safe work practices.
  • Ensure venue operations comply with WHS, fire safety, environmental and other legislative requirements.
  • Support event risk management procedures and promoting safe and inclusive work practices.
  • Coordinate administrative tasks including payments, data entry, records management and documentation.
  • Promote venue products and services and identify opportunities to maximise business outcomes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, industry stakeholders, community groups and partners.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, staff, contractors and stakeholders at all levels.

Programmed Skilled Workforce is currently seeking a reliable and motivated Venue Services Coordinator to join our team at a Recreation Precinct in Townsville.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive team delivering high-quality customer service and operational outcomes at a busy and vibrant recreation venue.

About the Role

As the Venue Services Coordinator, you will play an important role in coordinating the day-to-day delivery of venue services, supporting staff and contractors, and ensuring customers, clients and stakeholders receive a high level of service.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Communicating effectively with customers, staff, contractors and stakeholders at all levels.
About You

We are looking for someone who is confident working in a busy customer-focused environment and can effectively coordinate people, operations and competing priorities.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in customer service, venue operations, recreation, hospitality, events or a similar environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience supervising, coordinating or supporting staff and/or contractors.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong understanding of workplace health and safety and the importance of maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.
Mandatory Requirements
  • Positive Blue Card – mandatory
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate – mandatory
