Job summary

Bluefin Resources Pty is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to drive DevSecOps and automation within Azure cloud environments. The role focuses on strengthening security controls, implementing detection engineering, and automating security configurations through code.

You will work with Microsoft Defender, Sentinel and Entra, supporting security operations in a fast-moving venture environment backed by a major bank, with a 6-month initial contract likely to extend.

Qualifications

• Senior security expert with hands-on engineering experience across cloud security and operations.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft security tools including Defender, Sentinel and Entra.
• Practical cloud security work in Azure with IaC practices (Terraform preferred).
• Experience automating security processes and configurations via code.
• Background in fintech or regulated environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen cloud security controls in Azure environments.
• Support security operations, including detection engineering and improvements in Microsoft Defender and Sentinel.
• Contribute to DevSecOps automation and manage security configuration as code.
• Collaborate with identity management technologies, including Microsoft Entra.
• Assess priorities, respond to changing demands and escalate risks constructively.
• Partner with stakeholders to provide practical security guidance and work with a small team.
