Bluefin Resources Pty is seeking a Senior Security Engineer for a digital venture/banking environment. The role focuses on strengthening Azure cloud security, supporting security operations, and enabling DevSecOps practices.

The ideal candidate has hands-on security engineering experience across cloud security, operations, and regulated fintech settings, with strong Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, and Entra knowledge. Collaboration with a small, multidisciplinary team is essential.

Qualifications

• Broad security experience across security operations, devsecops, cloud security and security engineering.
• Experience with Azure cloud security and Microsoft security stack.
• Hands-on security engineering in fintech or regulated environments.
• Ability to manage security configuration as code, e.g., Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen cloud security controls Azure environments.
• Support security operations, including detection engineering and enhancements across Microsoft Sentinel and Defender.
• Contribute to DevSecOps automation and manage security configuration through code.
• Work with identity technologies including Microsoft Entra.
• Assess priorities, respond to changing demands and elevate risks constructively.
• Partner with stakeholders to provide practical security guidance.
• Work independently yet collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated senior-level experience across security engineering and operations.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Defender, Sentinel and Entra.
• Practical cloud security experience in Azure.
• Experience with DevSecOps practices; Terraform exposure is highly regarded.
• Demonstrated ability to manage security configuration as code.
• Knowledge of detection engineering, vulnerability management and security operations.
• Experience in fintech or regulated environments.
• Track record working across startup-style and enterprise environments.

A leading fast-moving venture organisation backed by a major bank is seeking a Senior Security Engineer for an initial 6 month contract highly likely to extend.

Ideal candidate will have broad security experience across security operations, devsecops, cloud security and security engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Strengthen cloud security controls Azure environments.
• Support security operations, including detection engineering and improvements across Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender.
• Contribute to DevSecOps automation and manage security configuration through code.
• Work with identity and access technologies, including Microsoft Entra.
• Assess priorities, respond to changing demands and elevate risks constructively.
• Partner with technical and business stakeholders to provide practical security guidance.
• Work independently from broad direction while collaborating closely with a small, multidisciplinary team.

• Strong experience with the Microsoft security ecosystem, particularly Microsoft Defender, Sentinel and Entra.
