Job summary

Bluefin Resources Pty is recruiting a Senior Security Engineer for a fast-moving digital venture backed by a major bank. The role is an initial six-month contract with strong potential to extend, requiring hands-on security engineering across cloud security, DevSecOps, and security operations in Azure.

You will strengthen Azure security controls, support Defender and Sentinel detections, drive IaC security, and collaborate with stakeholders across startup and enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• Senior-level hands-on experience across security engineering and operations.
• Strong experience with the Microsoft security ecosystem (Defender, Sentinel, Entra).
• In-depth cloud security experience in Azure.
• DevSecOps practices, automation and IaC; Terraform exposure valued.
• Ability to manage security configurations as code.
• Experience in fintech or regulated environments; startup and enterprise exposure.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen cloud security controls in Azure environments.
• Support security operations, including detection engineering and Defender/Sentinel improvements.
• Contribute to DevSecOps automation and manage security configuration as code.
• Work with identity and access technologies, including Entra.
• Partner with stakeholders to provide practical security guidance.
• Work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
