Job summary

The University of Newcastle is seeking a DevOps Engineering Specialist to drive design, implementation and evolution of enterprise technology platforms at the Callaghan campus. You will work across a modern stack, including ServiceNow, Dynamics 365, Okta, SailPoint, GitHub, AWS and Atlassian tools, delivering scalable solutions for staff and students.

Qualifications

4+ years designing, building and improving scalable enterprise systems
DevOps automation, observability, IaC and deployment tooling
ITSM experience (incident, problem, change, release, service-level)
Leadership capabilities including mentoring and stakeholder collaboration
Strong interpersonal skills and team collaboration

Responsibilities

Develop and deploy software, infrastructure and tool sets for build/test/release of enterprise solutions
Assist in building platform pipelines within the capability area
Contribute to AI-assisted development, CI/CD pipelines, automation and IaC practices
Analyse, debug and troubleshoot incidents impacting delivery
Assist with design, management and monitoring of systems and platforms
Engage with technical teams and business to identify tooling and practices
Support platform health through maintenance, upgrades and secure coding
Mentor less-experienced team members to build capability
Build relationships with internal stakeholders, managed-service partners and vendors
