Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a highly motivated DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced development team in Columbia, MD. The ideal candidate will lead deployment automation, manage Kubernetes clusters on AWS, and integrate applications with infrastructure through Terraform and Ansible.

Required are strong Linux expertise, Python/Bash/Go programming, and experience with CI/CD pipelines. This role supports a customer onsite in Columbia, MD and requires TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• Security Clearance – TS/SCI required; US Citizenship required.
• 9+ years DevOps or Software Development experience with Bachelor's degree in related field; or 7 years with Master’s; or 13 years with HS diploma.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda).
• Proficient in configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with application, container, and OS deployment, scaling, and management.
• Programming in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, and other deployment tools.
• Comfortable in a terminal-based environment.
• Proficient knowledge of Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Knowledge of AGILE methodologies and standard tool suites.
• Experience as a tech lead, mentor, or engineering manager.

Responsibilities

• Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS, especially EKS.
• Support development and deployment of non-cloud (Edge) infrastructure on-premise and portable equipment.
• Automate deployment processes and ensure reliability and scalability of services.
• Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and AWS infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into infrastructure.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems and resolve issues.
• Continuously improve processes and tools for high availability and performance.
• Stay current with new technologies and industry trends.
• Mentor and lead engineering teams as part of senior-level impact.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
