Job summary

InDebted is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong DevOps focus to join our global engineering team in Sydney. Hybrid work (3 days in office) supports close collaboration on Collect, our in-house platform critical to our business.

You’ll design, build, and operate cloud infra, pipelines, and observability tooling to drive automation and reliability. Expect to influence architecture, own CI/CD, and mentor peers while shipping features with a pragmatic, AI-enabled approach.

Qualifications

• 5+ years software engineering with DevOps/platform/SRE focus.
• Experience with cloud infra and IaC, Terraform or similar.
• Strong CI/CD, trunk-based development, and rapid releases.
• Proficient in observability, monitoring, and incident response.
• Excellent communication and ownership in ambiguous problems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve cloud infrastructure behind Collect with IaC.
• Contribute to architecture decisions for operable, observable systems.
• Own CI/CD pipelines to enable safe, fast shipping across teams.
• Reduce production friction with tooling, guardrails, and paved roads.
• Build observability and drive post-incident learning for resilience.
• Identify and automate manual toil using AI and automation.
• Mentor engineers, share knowledge, and raise engineering bar.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, communicate trade-offs clearly.
