Job summary

Roadmap Solutions Pty Ltd (trading as Infrastructure & Cloud Solution Architects) seeks a Senior Developer Programmer to design, develop and maintain enterprise web applications and APIs. You’ll work with cloud architects and clients to deliver secure, scalable, production-ready solutions in a hybrid Melbourne CBD setting.

The role requires hands-on expertise in C#/.NET, Python or Node.js, plus experience with Azure, REST APIs, databases and modern DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• At least three years of relevant commercial software development experience delivering production‑grade web applications.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements, functional specifications and architectural designs, and translate them into secure, scalable and maintainable software solutions.
• Design, develop, enhance and maintain production‑grade applications using modern backend technologies such as C#/.NET, Python or Node.js.
• Build and optimise RESTful APIs, microservices, integration services and SQL or NoSQL data solutions, including SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Develop automated unit, integration and regression tests; diagnose complex defects; and improve application reliability, performance and maintainability.
• Apply secure coding and data‑handling practices, including OWASP‑aligned controls, throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to Git‑based development workflows and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, including controlled deployment, monitoring and rollback procedures.
• Conduct peer code reviews, prepare technical documentation and mentor junior and intermediate developers on coding and architectural practices.

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer Programmer (ANZSCO 261312) to join our Melbourne development team.

This is a senior, hands-on technical position responsible for designing, developing, testing, integrating and maintaining enterprise web applications, microservices and backend APIs. You will work closely with cloud architects, technical leads, developers and client stakeholders to deliver secure, production-ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

Analyse business requirements, functional specifications and architectural designs, and translate them into secure, scalable and maintainable software solutions.

Design, develop, enhance and maintain production-grade applications using modern backend technologies such as C#/.NET, Python or Node.js.

Build and optimise RESTful APIs, microservices, integration services and SQL or NoSQL data solutions, including SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

Develop automated unit, integration and regression tests; diagnose complex defects; and improve application reliability, performance and maintainability.

Essential qualifications and experience

At least three years of relevant commercial software development experience delivering production-grade web applications.

A recognised bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Strong hands‑on capability in at least one core backend stack: C#/.NET, Python or Node.js.

Demonstrated experience in API design, database development and systems integration using SQL Server, PostgreSQL or comparable technologies.

Sound knowledge of automated testing, Git version control, secure data handling, fault diagnosis and production support.

Strong professional English communication skills for client engagement, technical documentation and cross‑functional collaboration.

Experience deploying and configuring applications in Microsoft Azure, including App Service, Azure Functions and Azure SQL.

Experience with Azure DevOps build and release pipelines, Docker containerisation or comparable DevOps tooling.

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ARM templates or Bicep.
