We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Developer with extensive experience in the delivery of large public-facing websites, web portals and web-based workflow applications. In short, a web application specialist and team lead with UI, server logic, .NET, DevOps and database management expertise.

Job Description

As a Senior Developer with excellent communication skills, you'll be involved in planning, designing and developing custom software solutions from scratch. You will work closely with clients and take ownership of project outcomes. You will also be expected to help define and assign tasks to other developers, and help ensure that project milestones are met on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead small two and three-people teams in the design, development and implementation of software solutions built in .NET and frontend technologies.
• Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from planning to delivery, ensuring successful completion.
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code, following best practices and coding standards.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to company coding standards.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing systems as needed.
• TDD, unit testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• Stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends.
• Communicate project progress and technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of proven experience as a Senior Developer or Team Lead.
• Advanced .NET programming and knowledge of Microsoft technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients and team members effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
• Database design (SQL Server and NoSQL).
• Git Workflows — expert use of Git for branching, merging, code reviews, and collaboration.
• CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker), cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and automated deployments.
• Web security best practices (XSS, CSRF prevention, secure authentication, encryption).
• System and Application Architecture — ability to structure scalable, modular, maintainable systems.
• Data Modelling and APIs — designing efficient data flows and clear, versioned API interfaces.
• Expertise in Umbraco or similar Microsoft-based CMS will be highly regarded.
