Job summary

Camden Council is seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to lead investigations and design of civil infrastructure at Oran Park. You will prepare estimates and design reports, and manage external consultants while providing engineering guidance to council departments.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineer or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in scoping, planning, investigating, designing and estimating civil projects.
• Knowledge of engineering design standards, guidelines and practices.
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving and creativity for complex challenges.
• GPS surveying knowledge with modern instruments.
• Experience in project management, budgeting and timelines.
• Strong customer and community engagement focus, with excellent communication and report writing.
• Proficiency in MS Office and design software AutoCAD, Civil 3D and DRAINS.

Senior Design Engineer SALARY: $104,768 - $120,057 p.a + Super Work Type: Temporary Full Time up to 12 months Location: Oran Park Administration Building - 70 Central Avenue, Oran Park 2570

We are looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to undertake investigations and design of civil infrastructure. The successful applicant will be well versed in the preparation of estimates and related design reports as well as experience in the Project management of external consultants and the ability to provide engineering advice and services to the various departments within Council. Essentia l:

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineer or equivalent
• Extensive experience in scoping, planning, investigating, designing, and estimating civil engineering projects
• Comprehensive knowledge of engineering design standards, guidelines, and practices
• Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity skills to tackle complex engineering challenges
• Knowledge in surveying with modern instruments and GPS technologies
• Experience in project management, budgeting, and timelines
• Strong customer and community engagement focus, with excellent communication, negotiation and report writing skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Design Software Programs, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and DRAINS

Desirable:

• Experience in geotechnical, traffic, and structural engineering projects, including investigation, analysis, and design
• Previous local government experience and knowledge of government procedures
• Construction and project management experience, with traffic controller qualifications
