Job summary
Camden Council is seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to investigate and design civil infrastructure, estimate works, and manage external consultants. You will provide engineering advice to council departments while working on multiple projects to defined timelines.
The role offers professional development within a collaborative team, flexible leave provisions, and a 35-hour week in a dynamic local-government setting. This is a temporary full-time posting in NSW.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineer or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in scoping, planning, investigating, designing, and estimating civil engineering projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering design standards, guidelines, and practices.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity skills to tackle complex engineering challenges.
- Knowledge in surveying with modern instruments and GPS technologies.
- Experience in project management, budgeting, and timelines.
- Strong customer and community engagement focus, with excellent communication, negotiation and report writing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Design Software Programs, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and DRAINS.
- Experience in geotechnical, traffic, and structural engineering projects, including investigation, analysis, and design.
- Previous local government experience and knowledge of government procedures.
- Construction and project management experience, with traffic controller qualifications.
