PCL Constructors Pacific Rim PTY Ltd. in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead solar PV design projects, including grid-connected and hybrid systems.

You will develop detailed electrical and structural designs and review protection schemes to ensure project success. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years in solar PV design, with proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Helioscope, plus familiarity with Australian standards and grid connection

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of solar PV design experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, and similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and grid integration.
• Familiarity with Australian standards and grid connection processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor cross-functional teams.

Responsabilidades

• Lead design and engineering of solar PV systems (grid-connected & hybrid).
• Develop and review electrical/structural designs including diagrams and cable schedules.
• Perform energy yield assessments with PV analysis tools.
• Ensure designs comply with AS/NZS and IEC standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and construction teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.

Here's how a Senior Design EngineerforPCL Constructors Pacific Rim PTY Ltd. within Solar Australia contributes to our team:

• Lead the design and engineering of solar PV systems, including grid-connected and hybrid systems.
• Develop and review detailed electrical and structural designs, including single-line diagrams, layout drawings, cable schedules, and protection schemes.
• Perform energy yield assessments using tools like PVsyst, Helioscope, or equivalent
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards (e.g., AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 5033, IEC, local grid codes).
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and construction teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with project goals.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering to optimize system performance and cost.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities to obtain design approvals and permits.
• Support commissioning and troubleshooting activities during project execution.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of design standards, templates, and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in solar PV system design, preferably within an EPC or consultancy environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, and other relevant design and simulation tools.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, grid integration, and renewable energy technologies.
• Familiarity with Australian standards and grid connection processes.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross-functional teams.
