North West Hospital and Health Service in Mount Isa is seeking a qualified Dental Assistant to provide chairside support, radiography and patient care across regional clinics and outreach sites.

The role leads the Dental Assistant workforce through mentoring, rostering and professional development, while coordinating outreach planning, travel, procurement and locum administration to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Formación

• Mandatory Certificate III in Dental Assisting from an RTO or recognised tertiary institution.
• Working with Children Check required under Queensland policy prior to appointment.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or National Police Certificate (not older than 3 years) required; National Police Certificate accepted if no current clearance.
• Pre-employment criminal history checks and vaccination requirements may apply.

About the roleBased in Mount Isa, you'll help deliver safe, high-quality and patient-centred care to communities across the North West, both in clinic settings and through outreach services to regional and remote locations.Lead and support the Dental Assistant workforce through mentoring, workforce coordination, rostering, recruitment and professional development.Coordinate key operational functions including outreach planning, travel arrangements, procurement, inventory management and locum administration.Provide advanced clinical dental assisting services, including chairside support, radiography, patient care coordination and participation in outreach programs.Working with usTax savings through salary sacrificing options are also available.In your downtime, we offer 4 weeks p.a. recreational leave with a 17.5% loading/bonus.Professionally, our HHS values professionalism, leadership capability, excellence and resilience in our staff. We are committed to providing extraordinary opportunities for career development including in-house training, development and mentoring programs.RequirementsPossession of a Certificate III in Dental Assisting from a registered training organisation (RTO) or other recognised tertiary institution is mandatory for this role.Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 require Queensland Health to seek a 'working with children check; from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.This role is defined as an Aged Care Worker (risk-assessed role) with regular / ongoing direct contact with older persons and/or significant influence over aged care service delivery under the Aged Care Act 2024. It is therefore a requirement of this role that the person is assessed for and meets suitability to fulfil a risk-assessed role and have a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or a current National Police Certificate (not older than 3 years).
