Job summary

National Workforce Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator for a 12-month contract to support a large Federal Government agency. The role focuses on MongoDB upgrades and migrations, alongside administering SQL Server, Db2 z/OS and Db2 Midrange.

You will work with agency teams to plan, test and implement controlled changes, ensuring data integrity and availability while boosting performance and resilience.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering controlled database upgrades and migrations.
• Expertise across SQL Server, Db2 z/OS and Db2 Midrange.
• Proven ability to plan, test and implement changes with minimal downtime.

Responsibilities

• Assess database environments and identify upgrade, compatibility, performance and operational risks.
• Plan, validate and implement database upgrades and migrations while minimising downtime.
• Provide performance tuning, replication, backup, recovery and production support.
• Support databases in containerised environments and manage deployment risks.
• Document configuration changes, upgrade procedures, risks and lessons learned.
• Support knowledge transfer and skills development within agency teams.
