Job summary

NW Technology is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator to support a large Federal Government agency on a 12-month contract. The role focuses on MongoDB upgrades and migrations, plus SQL Server, Db2 z/OS and Db2 Midrange administration.

You will plan, test and implement controlled changes, maintain data integrity, ensure availability and optimise database performance in enterprise environments. Hybrid work is considered across Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide.

Qualifications

Expert-level SQL Server administration and high availability
Expert-level Db2 z/OS and Db2 Midrange administration
Expert-level MongoDB administration incl. replication, backup and recovery
Experience delivering controlled upgrades and migrations
Hands-on experience with containerised environments
Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills

Responsibilities

Assess database environments and identify upgrade, compatibility, performance and operational risks.
Plan, validate and implement database upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime.
Provide performance tuning, replication, backup, recovery and production support.
Support databases in containerised environments and manage deployment risks.
Document configuration changes, upgrade procedures and risk mitigations.
Assist knowledge transfer within agency teams.
