Job summary

Randstad Digital is seeking a SQL Database Engineer to design and deploy SQL Server solutions in Azure SQL Database and SQL MI, including health reports, automation initiatives and repeatable deployment capabilities in the Azure cloud, with a focus on least privilege and embedded data security.

Responsibilities include developing robust stored procedures, tuning performance, building scalable data pipelines, and delivering monitoring dashboards; you will collaborate with cyber and security teams

Qualifications

• Experience deploying SQL Server solutions in Azure environments.
• Strong understanding of least privilege and data security.
• Proven ability to optimize T-SQL and database performance.

Responsibilities

• Design and deployment of SQL Server solutions utilising Azure SQL Database and SQL managed Instance including health reports, automation initiatives and repeatable deployment capabilities in the Azure cloud.
• Database development creating robust scalable solutions working on the least privilege principles with data security built in.
• Proven database and stored procedure optimisation skills developing new code routines, indexing and partitioning to cater for high load and critical timescales.
• Entra Authentication to SQL Server including PIM and Access Package development and deployment.

Skills required:

• Production operational support of Microsoft SQL Server 2016 through to 2022 and Azure SQLMI platforms and automation of SQL Server processes using PowerShell and T-SQL
• T-SQL skills including performance analysis of T-SQL queries, assisting developer teams with T-SQL query techniques, database design and modelling and experience in building data pipelines and integration systems in support of operational and data warehousing needs
• Delivery of SQL Server database systems built to high standards and the continual assurance including the development and management of system monitoring reports/dashboards and alerting systems
• Ability to work with Cyber and security compliance teams to address emerging vulnerabilities and investigate security incidents
