Job summary

Ausgrid is seeking a Senior Data & Insights Analyst for a 12-month fixed-term, full-time role based at our Head Office in Haymarket, Sydney with a hybrid work environment. You will develop data, reporting and visualization solutions within Ausgrid's Enterprise Data Platform, ensuring secure, scalable outputs and partnering with stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical results.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong software engineering and programming background.
  • Experience with Grafana and dashboard development.
  • Strong SQL and/or KQL skills.
  • Experience building and supporting production-grade data solutions.
  • Experience with large operational or time-series datasets.
  • Experience working with Git and deploying solutions across environments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience in production support environments and managing priorities.
  • Experience in energy, renewables, utilities or battery energy storage systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable data solutions, integrations and dashboards that support operational and commercial outcomes.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical, high-value solutions.
  • Develop and maintain visualisation and monitoring solutions to support data-driven decision making.
  • Contribute to the evolution of AI and MLOps capabilities across the team.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and continuously improve platform performance, reliability and security.
  • Support operational activities and work collaboratively across technology and commercial teams.
  • Participate in DevOps practices, version control and deployment activities across multiple environments.

As a Senior Data & Insights Analyst, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing data, reporting and visualisation solutions within Ausgrid's Enterprise Data Platform. You will deliver secure, reliable and scalable data solutions, partnering closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical outcomes while supporting the ongoing stability and performance of critical data platforms.

This is an opportunity to work in a unique environment where technology, energy markets, battery storage and commercial decision-making intersect. You'll be part of a small, collaborative team and have the opportunity to contribute to emerging AI and machine learning initiatives, particularly in areas such as battery optimisation, predictive analytics and operational insights.

Your key responsibilities will include:
