Job summary

Ausgrid, the largest electricity distributor on Australia's east coast, is recruiting an Engineering Officer / Engineer to join the NSW team. Based at Ourimbah Depot with a hybrid work model, this permanent full-time opportunity offers exposure to maintenance, breakdown response and construction across 11kV networks.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Diploma or Degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience delivering electrical engineering projects, preferably within distribution networks, utilities, infrastructure or construction environments.
  • Proven significant experience and technical expertise gained in a relevant trade; or experience in an engineering related or technical role; within the electricity distribution or relevant industry.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a team environment to effectively deliver projects or work outcomes within appropriate timeframes and costs.
  • Proven experience liaising with a variety of stakeholders, including the resolution of complex complaints / issues.
  • Experience in monitoring costs and financial impacts across work activities, projects or programs of work.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of both written and system-based project / work activity documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate maintenance, breakdown response and construction activities across Ausgrid's Distribution Network, including overhead, underground and substation assets operating at 415V and 11kV.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships and provide quality job documentation to field teams for safe delivery of work.

Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, the Engineering Officer / Engineer will work as part of a team of Engineers, Engineering Officers and Project Delivery Officers to plan and coordinate maintenance, breakdown response and construction activities across Ausgrid's Distribution Network, including overhead, underground and substation assets operating at 415V and 11kV.

The role is ideally suited to an electrical engineering professional with demonstrated experience managing electrical infrastructure projects from planning through to delivery. Applicants will have a strong understanding of project management principles, stakeholder coordination, resource planning and the safe execution of electrical works within a utility, infrastructure or similar environment.

You will manage internal and external stakeholder relationships and provides quality job documentation to field teams to ensure the safe delivery of work for the continued reliable operation of Ausgrid's network.

To be successful, you will have the following skills & experience:

  • Advanced Diploma or Degree in an electrical or relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent).
