Job summary

Balance Recruitment and Balance Consulting is seeking a Senior Data Governance Implementation Analyst for a major Federal Government program in Sydney. The role is hands-on, moving governance from framework to practice, embedding ownership, stewardship and tooling across business and tech teams.

You will run workshops, establish data ownership, and embed metadata, glossary, lineage and data quality practices, working with Collibra, Informatica, Atlan, Alation or Microsoft Purview.

Senior Data Governance Implementation Analyst | Federal Government | Sydney

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Data Governance Implementation Analyst to join a major data transformation program within a Federal Government agency.

This is a hands-on implementation role focused on taking data governance from framework to practice, embedding governance processes, ownership, stewardship and tooling across business and technology teams.

What you’ll be doing:

What we’re looking for:

You’ll have strong hands‑on data governance implementation experience within a large, complex organisation, ideally government or a regulated environment.

You’ll be comfortable translating governance frameworks into practical processes and bringing stakeholders along the journey.

Sydney | Hybrid, minimum 50% in office

12-month contract

Australian Citizenship required | Must be able to obtain Baseline clearance
