Job summary

WorkCover Queensland is expanding its data platform with a greenfield Snowflake implementation. We are partnering with Talenza to hire a Senior Data Engineer who will design pipelines, data models and curated data products powering reporting and analytics.

You will build scalable data pipelines, develop semantic models, and embed data quality, security and metadata throughout the solution. The role includes production support, performance tuning and mentoring peers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years delivering enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, including Airflow DAG development.
• Snowflake preferred; strong Databricks experience considered.
• Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, CI/CD and automated testing.
• Coding mindset, with practical AI use to accelerate delivery.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimise scalable data pipelines, transformations and reusable data products.
• Develop data models and semantic layers for reporting and analytics.
• Apply automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring and deployment automation.
• Embed data quality, security, privacy, lineage and metadata into solutions.
• Support production platforms, resolve performance issues and mentor other engineers.
