Job summary

Launch Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Sydney to join a growing analytics function. You will design and optimise data pipelines, build analytics-ready datasets and partner with engineers, analysts and stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions in a cloud environment.

The role focuses on BigQuery, Airflow and data modelling within GCP, with emphasis on performance, accessibility and self-service analytics.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience as a Data Engineer with cloud data platforms.
• Advanced SQL skills with extensive BigQuery experience.
• Hands-on Apache Airflow experience.
• Experience working within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and data modelling principles.
• Experience supporting analytics, reporting and dashboarding environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

We're partnering with a leading enterprise organisation seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a growing analytics function and help enhance the performance, accessibility and usability of data across the business.

This role will focus on building and optimising a high-performing analytics layer within an existing cloud-based data environment. You'll work closely with engineers, analysts and business stakeholders to create scalable, intuitive and consumption-ready datasets that support reporting, dashboarding and business insights.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical engineering capability with the ability to understand stakeholder requirements and translate them into practical data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise data pipelines within a GCP environment
