Job summary

Insignia Financial in Brisbane is seeking a GCP Data Engineer to design, develop and optimise scalable data solutions on Google Cloud Platform, powering insights and decisions across the organisation.

You'll implement data pipelines, ensure data quality, apply DevOps practices, and work with BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub and Cloud Composer in a cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer).
  • Proficient in Java or Python and building scalable, production-grade data pipelines.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and automated testing.

Join our expanding Data Engineering team where you'll help build modern data platforms that power insights, decision-making, and digital experiences across the organisation. As a GCP Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimise scalable data solutions on Google Cloud Platform, working with large and complex datasets in a cloud-native environment. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working with modern technologies, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and robust data solutions using Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and Composer.
  • Build and maintain reliable batch and real-time data pipelines using modern engineering practices and cloud-native technologies.
  • Apply DevOps principles, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and automated testing to improve delivery efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, governance controls, and adherence to engineering standards.
  • Optimise data pipelines and storage solutions for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and support solutions during build, driving continuous improvements and operational excellence.
  • Implement security controls, access management processes, and compliance requirements across data platforms.
What You Will Bring
  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer
  • Proficiency in Java or Python and experience building scalable, production-grade data pipelines and applications
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and automated testing frameworks
