Job summary

Insignia Financial in Adelaide is seeking a GCP Data Engineer to join our expanding data team. You will design, develop, and optimise scalable data platforms on Google Cloud, working with large datasets and cloud-native technologies to power insights and digital experiences across the organisation.

Bring 3+ years in data or software engineering, strong GCP skills (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer), and proficiency in Java or Python.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer.
• Proficiency in Java or Python and building scalable, production-grade data pipelines and applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data solutions using Google Cloud Platform services.
• Build and maintain reliable batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Apply DevOps principles, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and automated testing.
• Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, governance controls, and adherence to engineering standards.
• Optimise data pipelines and storage solutions for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support solutions during build, driving continuous improvements.

As a GCP Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimise scalable data solutions on Google Cloud Platform, working with large and complex datasets in a cloud-native environment. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and robust data solutions using Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and Composer.
• Build and maintain reliable batch and real-time data pipelines using modern engineering practices and cloud-native technologies.
• Apply DevOps principles, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and automated testing to improve delivery efficiency and quality.
• Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, governance controls, and adherence to engineering standards.
• Optimise data pipelines and storage solutions for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support solutions during build, driving continuous improvements and operational excellence.
• Implement security controls, access management processes, and compliance requirements across data platforms.

What You Will Bring

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer
