Job summary

Launch Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Sydney to join a growing analytics function. You will design and optimise data pipelines, build analytics-ready datasets and partner with engineers, analysts and stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions in a cloud environment.

The role focuses on BigQuery, Airflow and data modelling within GCP, with emphasis on performance, accessibility and self-service analytics.

Qualifications

Strong commercial experience as a Data Engineer with cloud data platforms.
Advanced SQL skills with extensive BigQuery experience.
Hands-on Apache Airflow experience.
Experience working within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Strong understanding of data warehousing and data modelling principles.
Experience supporting analytics, reporting and dashboarding environments.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and optimise data pipelines within a GCP environment.
Build and maintain analytics-ready datasets and data models.
Improve data performance, quality and accessibility across the platform.
Partner with analysts and business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
Develop scalable solutions that support dashboarding and self-service analytics.
Contribute to best practices across data engineering and platform development.
Support knowledge transfer and handover activities where required.
