Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Sydney is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead a major data centre project. You will act as the client’s on-site representative, providing oversight, challenging performance, and ensuring delivery to schedule, budget and quality.

You will run weekly site visits, chair roundtables, manage interfaces, and protect the critical path with rigorous reporting, ensuring issues are escalated and resolved before impacting the client.

Qualifications

• 15 to 20 years total experience in project and construction management.
• 8+ years delivering data centre projects specifically.
• General contractor background strongly preferred, or equivalent direct site experience in a senior delivery role.
• Thorough understanding of the full project lifecycle from mobilisation through to construction completion.

Responsibilities

• Act as the client's primary on-site oversight, sitting above the developer and contractor to ensure the programme is delivered to the required standard, timeline and quality.
• Lead weekly and bi-weekly site visits, chair Developer roundtables, and hold the developer and their contractor accountable to commitments.
• Manage GC, EC and MC interfaces and drive accountability across contractor and developer teams.
• Protect the critical path with rigour, surface blockers and friction points early, and confirm inspection readiness across all scopes.
• Provide bi-weekly site visit reports, roundtable minutes, action logs, and milestone status updates to keep the client informed and in control.
