Job summary

Insight Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Architect in Australia with a hybrid model in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. You will lead end-to-end data and AI engagements, design architectures, and shape strategic roadmaps for clients.

You will own technical delivery, governance, and mentoring of delivery teams, working with Azure Fabric, Power BI, Databricks, and OpenAI integrations to meet objectives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience architecting and delivering data/AI solutions.
• Hands-on Microsoft data stack and Python development capability.
• Proven AI delivery including Azure OpenAI and multi-agent systems.
• Strong leadership with ability to mentor delivery teams.
• Bachelor’s in a technical field; multiple Microsoft certs; TOGAF/ITIL/Agile exposure.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end data and AI solution design on Azure, shaping architectures and roadmaps.
• Provide technical governance, estimates and budgets to ensure on-time delivery.
• Elicit business and technical requirements from stakeholders and translate them into architectures.
• Design and implement using Azure data platform, Fabric, Power BI; integrate OpenAI as needed.
• Mentor delivery teams and influence senior stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

About the role

Leadership: The leader for this role is Bruce Anderson, Practice Lead, Data & AI. He is based in Brisbane and leads our regional Data & AI practice. He is known for a collaborative, empowering leadership style – providing clear strategic direction while giving architects the autonomy to own client outcomes and shape solution offerings.

As a Senior Data Architect, you will be a key technical leader in our Data & AI practice, working closely with clients to assess their current environments and design modern data and AI solutions that align to their strategic objectives. We will count on you to take technical ownership of large, complex engagements – from shaping the solution and defining requirements, through to providing governance, quality assurance and mentoring delivery teams.

Along the way, you will get to:

• Lead end-to-end solution design for complex data and AI engagements on Microsoft Azure, including assessment of client architectures and the development of strategic roadmaps.
• Provide technical leadership, quality assurance and governance across projects – guiding scope, estimates and technical budgets to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery without sacrificing quality.
• Work directly with client stakeholders and executives to elicit business and technical requirements, resolve project issues, and influence strategic data and AI decisions.
• Design and implement solutions using the Azure data platform, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, including integrating Azure OpenAI and multi-agent systems where appropriate.

What we’re looking for

• Proven consulting Data Architect with 8+ years’ experience architecting, designing and implementing advanced technical solutions, ideally within a professional services environment.
• Hands-on expertise in the Microsoft data stack , including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure IaaS/PaaS, Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, plus strong Python skills.
• Practical AI delivery experience , including Azure OpenAI integration and deployment, familiarity with GPT models and prompt engineering on Azure, and experience building or designing multi-agent systems; dbt experience is highly desirable.
• Strong communicator and leader , with excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and architectures, and a track record of mentoring others and influencing senior stakeholders.
• We also value: a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, at least two relevant Microsoft certifications, and exposure to TOGAF, ITIL and Agile methodologies.
