Insight is seeking a Senior Microsoft security architect in Perth, Western Australia. This hybrid role involves 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home, reporting into the Modern Work & Security practice.

About the Role

If you are a senior Microsoft security architect who thrives on solving complex problems and shaping meaningful outcomes for clients, this is the role for you. Sitting within our Modern Work & Security practice and reporting to the Team Lead in the Services department, you will serve as a trusted adviser — leading discovery engagements, designing target-state security architectures, and guiding clients through critical decisions across the full Microsoft security stack. Beyond client delivery, you will play an active role in building practice capability, contributing to reusable IP, accelerators, and Essential 8 uplift programmes that elevate the entire team.

• Apply structured critical thinking to frame complex challenges, challenge assumptions, and translate ambiguity into clear options and actionable recommendations.
• Design comprehensive target-state security architectures, maturity assessments, roadmaps, and control mappings — setting clients up for sustainable, long-term success.
• Communicate confidently with executives, security leaders, and technical stakeholders, translating complex risks and trade-offs into clear business language.
• Provide architecture governance and act as a trusted escalation point for delivery teams navigating complex design, integration, or risk decisions.
• Strengthen the Modern Work & Security practice by contributing reusable IP, reference architectures, advisory methods, and knowledge-sharing materials.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Demonstrated senior architecture and advisory capability, including problem definition, critical thinking, option analysis, decision support, and practical implementation planning.
• Deep customer-facing consulting experience, with the ability to facilitate workshops and present clear recommendations to executive, security, compliance, and technical audiences.
• Strong architecture-level experience across the Microsoft security stack, including Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft 365 security.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access, identity governance, RBAC, privileged access, hybrid identity, and cross-tenant access scenarios.
• Practical experience developing security strategies, maturity assessments, and roadmaps aligned to business risk, regulatory obligations, and customer priorities.
• Experience supporting Essential 8 uplift activities, including current-state assessment, gap analysis, control prioritisation, and stakeholder communication.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Purview Information Protection and Data Loss Prevention, including sensitivity labels, encryption, data classification, and endpoint DLP.

Highly Regarded

• Exposure to multi-tenant organisation design, governance, and operational considerations across multiple Microsoft 365 tenants.
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Purview data security and AI readiness capabilities, including DSPM for AI, Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness, and oversharing analysis.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune, including Windows Autopilot, SOE design, device compliance, and endpoint lifecycle management.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications across Security, Identity, Endpoint, Compliance, or Azure — with expert-level certifications particularly desirable.
