Job summary

Southern Adelaide Local Health Network – Flinders Medical Centre – Rehabilitation Studies Unit is seeking a part-time Business Analyst to support and enhance the rehabilitation data analytics platform. Reporting to the Professor of Rehabilitation, you will oversee governance, development and delivery of BI solutions to inform patient care decisions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Public Health, Information Management, IT, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Extensive experience with business intelligence, spreadsheets, databases and statistical packages.
• Proven ability to lead data governance, data quality programs and analytics projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of BI applications to support analytics, reporting and visualisations.
• Develop data collection, sharing, utilisation and protection processes.
• Provide timely advice to executives, managers and clinicians and build strong internal/external relationships.
• Support SALHN enterprise data and analytics platform and manage budget controls.

About the role:

Reporting to the Professor of Rehabilitation, this role is responsible for the support, maintenance, development and continuous improvement of the rehabilitation Studies Unit data and statistical analytics platform.

Duties for the role will include:

• Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of complex data governance and management projects, planning functions and services for the SAVCS. Scope, develop, test and deliver appropriate Business Intelligence Applications to support data analytics, reporting, visualisations and business analysis.
• Review, develop and implement processes related to data collection, sharing, utilisation, protection, cleaning and storage.
• Providing timely, accurate and informative advice to a range of parties including, but not limited to, the Executive, Managers, Clinicians and other key stakeholders.
• Developing and maintaining strong working relationships and alliances within and outside of SALHN to achieve Government objectives and expectations.
• Support the continuous improvement of SALHN’s enterprise data and analytics platform and to resolve complex issues and risks pertaining to SA Health data.
• Providing leadership in the management of the budget, ensuring maintenance of controls to ensure diligence and accountability.

About you:

• An appropriate Degree for example, Public Health, Information Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Technology or related discipline.
• Extensive experience in working with computer systems and applications including business intelligence, spreadsheets, word processing, databases, statistical packages and clinical costing systems.
• Demonstrated experience developing, delivering and evaluating complex compliance monitoring and data quality programs including developing data quality metrics to assess and monitor improvements.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire others to work collaborative to achieve objectives, develop talent with a commitment to a team orientated philosophy to bring about best use of resources to deliver services.
• Cultivates a high-performance culture, supporting innovation, action oriented, drives results and supports SALHN vision.
• Successful record of identifying business requirements and developing appropriate improvement or remedial strategies and change specifications to reengineer processes and systems.
• Self-motivated, organised, demonstrated initiative and an ability to operate independently while remaining focussed on agreed objectives that may have competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
