Job summary

Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join a Federal Government agency. The role involves handling complex data analyses, delivering strategic insights, and supporting decision-making with data-driven recommendations.

You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders and mentor junior analysts, contributing to operational and strategic outcomes. The successful candidate will manage multiple priorities, work independently, and translate data into meaningful insights.

Qualifications

• Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
• Advanced SQL and working with large data sets.
• Experience with SAS Enterprise Guide and/or SAS Viya.
• Excellent problem-solving and evidence-based decision-making.
• Strong communication to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to build stakeholder relationships across teams.
• Experience preparing reports and briefing materials for senior stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities autonomously.
• Experience with Python and/or R.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning.
• Experience in fraud analytics, risk analytics, or integrity environments.
• Experience in large, regulated government settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex data analysis, reporting, and investigative activities to support business objectives.
• Manage day-to-day analytical tasks, including regular reporting, project work, and ad hoc requests.
• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and insights.
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
• Contribute to reporting governance, quality assurance, and data integrity processes.
• Interpret findings and provide evidence-based recommendations to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with agency teams to ensure consistent data usage and messaging.
• Present analytical outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support stakeholder engagement and relationships.
• Mentor junior analysts and promote best practices in data analysis and reporting.
• Support projects within risk and integrity functions.
