Job summary

Emanate Technology is partnering with a small federal government agency to hire a Senior Data Analyst in Canberra. You will transform complex data into insights, develop Power BI dashboards, and support cloud migration and data-modernisation initiatives.

The role requires strong SQL, data modelling, and experience with modern Microsoft data platforms. You will work with business and technical stakeholders to deliver reporting solutions, build engaging visualisations, and contribute to ongoing

Qualifications

• Experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst or Reporting Analyst.
• Strong Power BI experience with DAX and data modelling.
• Experience with Azure Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric.
• Strong SQL skills with large, complex datasets.
• Experience using R and/or Python for analytics and automation.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Macros and User Forms.

Emanate Technology is proud to be partnering with a small federal government agency seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join a collaborative, high performing team. This role will see you working across a range of data and reporting initiatives, with a strong focus on cloud migration and modern data platforms. You'll work closely with both business and technical stakeholders to turn complex data into meaningful insights and deliver reporting solutions that support key business outcomes.

About the Role

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will

• Transform raw and complex datasets into meaningful insights and actionable reporting

• Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources

• Gather reporting requirements and work closely with business users to deliver solutions
• Contribute to ongoing improvements across reporting, analytics and data management practices

About You

• We're looking for someone with a strong blend of technical capability, analytical thinking and stakeholder engagement skills.
• You'll ideally bring:
• Experience working as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst or Reporting Analyst
• Strong Power BI experience, including DAX and data modelling
• Experience with Azure Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric
• Experience supporting cloud migration, data migration or data transformation projects
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets
• Experience using R and/or Python for analytics and automation
• Advanced Excel skills, including Macros and User Forms
• Experience with Power BI Report Builder and paginated reporting
• Experience working with geospatial data, mapping or spatial reporting
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
