Job summary

NSW Treasury is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards across Treasury, enabling informed decision-making and performance management. You will analyse multi-system data, validate findings, and strengthen data quality to provide a single source of truth.

You will partner with business units and promote self-service analytics through training and documentation. The role sits in the Financial Management and Services Group within the Information Technology

Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, Power Query, DAX and data modelling.
Strong SQL capability with complex datasets or data warehouses.
Experience delivering BI solutions from requirements to deployment and support.
Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Talend, Power Apps or Power Automate, plus Python or R.
Strong analytical skills, data quality risk awareness and clear insights.
Good data visualisation and reporting with user-centred design and governance.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for performance management.
Analyse complex data from multiple systems, validate and investigate insights.
Translate business needs into analytics products and support self-service analytics.
Collaborate with business units and ensure data quality and data truth.
Provide training, documentation and practical guidance on analytics.
