Job summary

The role collaborates with internal stakeholders, co-regulators and industry to inform regulatory decision-making, policy development and consistent practices across the mining lifecycle, ensuring public safety and environmental protection.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in engineering mandatory.
• Extensive experience in major engineering design, construction and dam safety reviews or advisory roles.
• Expertise in tailings and dam engineering and knowledge of standards/guidelines.
• Strong understanding of qualitative/quantitative risk assessment in geotechnical and dam safety risks.
• Ability to provide authoritative technical advice and influence regulatory decisions in high-risk environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist technical advice to inform regulatory decision-making and policy development.
• Support consistent application of regulatory practices and publicity of decisions.
• Identify, assess, and manage geotechnical risks across the mining and quarrying lifecycle.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, co-regulators and industry to protect public safety, infrastructure and the environment.
