Job summary

Teneo seeks a skilled and self-sufficient Cybersecurity Engineer (Senior Manager) to join our security team in Melbourne. In this role you will focus on detection engineering and blue-team operations, designing, tuning detection rules, responding to alerts, and maintaining our security posture across cloud, network and endpoints.

The role follows a hybrid model with three days in the office per week, offering opportunities to lead security initiatives, automate processes, and collaborate with IT

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of professional cybersecurity engineering/operations experience.
• Hands-on experience with detection, SIEM/XDR, log management, and incident response.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python/PowerShell/Bash) for automation.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security (AWS/Azure) and network security.
• Ability to write and tune detection rules and alerts.
• Experience with blue team / SOC operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and tune SIEM/XDR rules and detection logic.
• Respond to security alerts and incidents; perform triage and investigation.
• Automate security operations with scripts and SOAR integrations.
• Collaborate with IT, DevOps and business units to embed security.
• Produce run-books, dashboards, and documentation.
