Job summary

Talent is seeking a Senior Cyber Operations & Engineering Specialist to strengthen security across a complex enterprise. The role focuses on Tenable vulnerability management and Illumio micro-segmentation, with additional emphasis on reporting and automation.

You will design, implement, and tune security controls, develop detections with Microsoft Sentinel using KQL, and collaborate with SOC/MDR providers to improve security operations. NSW location in Parramatta or Richmond.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in enterprise cyber security engineering or related roles.
• Hands-on experience with Tenable/WAS vulnerability management and Illumio segmentation.
• Experience in analyzing scan results and reporting metrics via Power BI.
• Knowledge of hybrid infrastructure, network security, and firewalls.
• Strong communication with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage Tenable Nessus/Tenable Vulnerability Management and WAS, translating findings into remediation and reporting.
• Implement and maintain Illumio micro-segmentation with policy development and traffic validation.
• Develop and tune Microsoft Sentinel detections using KQL and optimize DCR ingestion.
• Tune Akamai Layer 7 WAF rules and exceptions to protect services while enabling business activity.
• Build Azure Logic Apps SOAR playbooks for security automation.
• Collaborate with internal teams and managed SOC/MDR providers to improve detection quality.
