Job summary

Paxus is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Analyst in Brisbane for a hands‑on, 12‑month contract. You will lead incident response, threat hunting and vulnerability management across cloud, endpoint, identity and network environments.

You will use SIEM/EDR and threat intel to detect threats, develop detection rules and drive automation, delivering secure operations and written playbooks for the team.

Qualifications

• Senior cyber security, incident response or security operations role within a complex enterprise environment.
• Key experience includes: SIEM, EDR, threat intelligence and security monitoring.
• Cyber security incident response and investigation experience.
• Threat hunting and risk-based remediation experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate cyber security incident response from triage to recovery and post‑incident review.
• Conduct investigations across cloud, endpoint, identity, network and enterprise environments.
• Use SIEM, EDR and threat intelligence platforms to detect and respond to threats.
• Perform proactive threat hunting and identify emerging security risks.
• Develop and improve detection rules, monitoring use‑cases, alerting logic and investigation procedures.
• Support vulnerability management, DLP and Insider Risk Management initiatives.
• Drive automation and process improvements for security operations.
• Develop incident response playbooks, procedures and technical documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior analysts.
