Job summary

Paxus in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to lead hands-on security operations across monitoring, threat detection and incident response. You will manage complex investigations, coordinate incident response and drive improvements in detection logic and automation.

The role covers cloud, endpoint, identity and network security with opportunities to mentor junior analysts and influence security posture across a large enterprise. Initial 12-month contract in Brisbane CBD.

• Perform proactive threat hunting and identify emerging security risks.
• Develop and improve detection rules, monitoring use cases, alerting logic and investigation procedures.
• Support vulnerability management, DLP and Insider Risk Management initiatives.
• Drive automation, process improvement and operational efficiencies.
• Develop incident response playbooks, procedures, technical documentation and reporting.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior analysts.

Senior Cyber Security Analyst | Brisbane | 12-Month Contract

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join a large and complex organisation, supporting critical cyber security operations and helping strengthen its overall security posture.

This is a hands-on role covering security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, threat hunting and vulnerability management, with the opportunity to work across a broad enterprise technology environment.

What we’re looking for

You’ll bring strong hands-on experience in a senior cyber security, incident response or security operations role within a complex enterprise environment.

Key experience includes:

Desirable experience

Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Purview, Elastic Security or Rapid7 will be highly regarded.

Knowledge of Essential Eight, NIST CSF and ISO 27001, together with relevant certifications such as CISSP, SANS, Security+ or Microsoft Security certifications, would also be advantageous.
