Job summary

SecureTalent Pty Ltd. is seeking a Senior Cyber & Cloud Security Consultant for an initial 12-week contract engagement across Brisbane, Sydney, or Cairns. You will balance technical and governance work, partnering with the IT Director and MSP to own and drive security initiatives to completion.

The role requires expertise across cyber governance, cloud security, and security controls, with ability to work quickly in a regulated environment. Potential extension beyond 12 weeks is possible.

Qualifications

• Cyber security governance, risk and assurance experience.
• ISM, Essential Eight, PSPF, ISO 27001 and/or NIST familiarity.
• Azure, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID security experience.
• Cloud security and secure-by-design practices.
• Security controls, vulnerabilities and remediation experience.
• Experience working with MSPs and external security providers.
• Government or highly regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead key security work across technical and governance domains.
• Collaborate with IT Director and MSP to drive initiatives to completion.
• Rapidly understand the client environment and operate independently.

Senior Cyber & Cloud Security Consultant – Contract

Brisbane, Sydney or Cairns

I'm working with an organisation looking for an experienced Cyber & Cloud Security Consultant to come in on an initial 12-week engagement and help deliver a number of priority cyber security initiatives.

This is a broad role, so we're looking for someone who can comfortably work across both the technical and governance sides of cyber.

You'll work closely with the Director of IT and alongside a recently onboarded MSP, taking ownership of key security work and helping drive it through to completion.

We're looking for experience across:

• Cyber security governance, risk and assurance
• ISM, Essential Eight, PSPF, ISO 27001 and/or NIST
• Azure, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID security
• Cloud security and secure-by-design practices
• Security controls, vulnerabilities and remediation
• Working with MSPs and external security providers
• Government or highly regulated environments would be highly regarded

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can get across an environment quickly, work independently and get things done.

There's also potential for the engagement to extend beyond the initial 12 weeks.
