Job summary

Moray & Agnew in Perth is seeking a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join our specialist Compulsory Third Party team on a permanent full-time basis. You will work closely with the CTP Partner to lead and shape the team, focusing on liability, quantum, and strategic claims, with drafting of sophisticated advices and proactive file progression.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' post admission experience in defendant insurance or personal injury practice.
• Ability to independently manage a portfolio of complex, high value files with sound judgement.
• Excellent legal drafting and analytical skills with concise advices.
• Strong knowledge of civil practice and procedure in Western Australia courts.
• Strong client relationship skills with commercial awareness.
• Commitment to mentoring and developing junior lawyers and paralegals.
• Ability to prioritise in a high volume, deadline driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, commercially focused advice to major insurer clients on complex CTP matters.
• Draft high quality advices on liability, causation, quantum and settlement strategy.
• Proactively manage a portfolio of high-value, technically complex files.
• Attend pre-trial conferences and court appearances in WA District and Supreme Courts.
• Supervise and develop associates and paralegals within the CTP team.
• Contribute to strategic direction, client relationships and business development.
