Job summary

Gilchrist Connell in Perth seeks a Special Counsel (full time or part time) with at least seven years of post‑admission experience in personal injury litigation to lead CTP matters. You will assess claims, negotiate at pre‑trial conferences, and work closely with principals and a skilled team in a dynamic, supportive culture.

You will contribute to complex and large loss matters, while opportunities to broaden experience in other areas of practice are available.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years' post admission experience in personal injury litigation.
• Experience assessing and managing CTP claims, including catastrophic injury and dependency claims.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience undertaking District Court pre-trial conference negotiations.
• Strong strategic thinking, negotiation and problem solving abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with principals and colleagues.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A practical and client focused approach.
