Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Perth, WA, is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Estimator to lead estimating, analysis and cost-control activities for complex projects. You will prepare cost studies, review trends, and implement project cost requirements with high technical skill.

Australian citizenship and government security clearance eligibility are required. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and 8–14 years of relevant experience, with strong knowledge of cost engineering and robust analytical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) required.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.
• Applicants must be Australian Citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Performs non-routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities.
• Coordinates implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports
• Coordinates the development and accuracy of cost reports
• Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency
• Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
• Investigates the requirements for estimating and/or cost control data
• Collects and classifies cost data
• Performs budget allocation and reporting/cost control regime for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines
• Identifies cost trends for management attention
• Prepares cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons
