Stevendouglas is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee U.S. and Canadian accounting operations in a rapidly growing retail services leader. You will manage close processes, ensure GAAP compliance, and drive process improvements while leading a small team.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• Bachelor’s in Accounting; CPA required; MBA is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP; revenue, lease, and equity accounting a plus.
• Experience with enterprise financial systems (Workday preferred).
• Advanced Excel and strong analytical and communication skills.
• Leadership mindset with a hands-on, solutions-driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting and month-end close processes (U.S. & Canada)
• Ensure GAAP compliance with internal controls and corporate policies
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
• Support audits, SEC reporting, and tax compliance activities
• Manage and mentor a team of 3-4 accounting professionals
• Collaborate across departments to improve systems and processes
