Job summary

Hancock Iron Ore is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer for a 4 days on / 3 days off FIFO roster from Perth to the Roy Hill Mine. You will diagnose complex problems, implement robust solutions, and improve control system performance to ensure long-term reliability of critical operations.

The role requires hands-on expertise in PLC/SCADA, industrial communications and control system architecture, with the ability to design, code, test, and commission solutions while mentoring engineers and

Qualifications

Degree in Industrial Control and Automation Engineering or equivalent.
Hands-on experience supporting/maintaining industrial control systems in mining.
Advanced SCADA/HMI development including alarming, graphics, diagnostics, and visualisation.
Proven ability to diagnose complex automation issues across software, communications, instrumentation, and process equipment.

Responsibilities

Provide expert-level support for PLC, SCADA, historian, network, and field automation systems.
Lead complex troubleshooting and root cause investigations of control logic and process interactions.
Design, develop, test, and commission modifications to improve safety, reliability, and performance.
Develop PLC, HMI, SCADA software using modern engineering standards.
Mentor engineers and technicians and provide engineering governance.
